SF0039-Long-Term Homeowner Tax Exemption-Sunset Repeal

***LAC is the Legislative Action Committee of the RWSC (Republican Women of Sheridan County).  Below is the main message showing our position and reasons why we support or oppose a bill. 

We oppose SF0039, Long-term Homeowner Tax Exemption-Sunset Repeal, for the following reasons:

· This bill extends the 50% property tax break to perpetuity, for only a specific few citizens.

· Under this bill plan, tax liability would fall to the young and middle-aged, who are increasingly struggling to provide for their families. It also falls on senior citizens living in Wyoming less than 25 years.

· This redistributes income from some taxpayers to others.

· The bill violates the Wyoming Republican Party Platform which states that “Every citizen is equal before, equally protected by, and equally subject to, the law.”
