SF0022-Unincorporated Nonprofit Associations-Amendments

***LAC is the Legislative Action Committee of the RWSC (Republican Women of Sheridan County).  Below is the main message showing our position and reasons why we support or oppose a bill.  

  We oppose SF0022, Unincorporated nonprofit Association Amendments for the following reasons:

· These amendments authorize decentralized unincorporated nonprofit associations (DUNAs) to automatically convert into unincorporated nonprofit associations (UNAs) under specified conditions.

· These amendments make special accommodation for newly formed entities to accommodate digitalizing data on the blockchain.

· The public is not fully aware of the consequences of advancing Wyoming as the blockchain and digital asset haven of the world. The hidden work of a small group of legislators is hailed in a digital asset world publication, “The State of Wyoming is solidifying its position as the friendliest state in the US for digital asset innovation.”

· These specialty entities are intended to allow digital movement of digital assets and data in and out of Wyoming without requiring oversight or due diligence. 

· This bill invites worldwide corporate entities that are managed on a blockchain ledger instead of humans. This bill hinders holding entity members legally accountable.

· This bill continues to promote digitalizing citizen data, as well as using public funds as venture capital in developing a high risk, unproven Stable Token or other digital assets. Wyoming legislators should defund the Wyoming Stable Token and unwind all contracts and commitments.
