SF0018-Attendance of Students in K-12 Schools

***LAC is the Legislative Action Committee of the RWSC (Republican Women of Sheridan County).  Below is the main message showing our position and reasons why we support or oppose a bill.   

We support SF0018, Attendance of students in K-12 schools, for the following reasons:

· This bill amends the Wyoming statute that requires public school be free and accessible to all children, to include children who attend on a part-time basis.

· Currently, homeschool students may attend classes in their school district without being enrolled as a full-time student.

· We must ensure continued access for these students to participate in the classes and activities that are important to their development.

· This bill aligns with the Wyoming Republican Party resolutions that support school choice and provide that parents have the right to make the best educational decisions for their children.
