HB0117-Stop Harm-Empower Women with Informed Notices

***LAC is the Legislative Action Committee of the RWSC (Republican Women of Sheridan County).  Below is the main message showing our position and reasons why we support or oppose a bill. 

We support HB0107-Stop Harm-Empower Women with Informed Notices, for the following reasons:

· HB0117 will require there to be an informed consent provided to the patient before the procurement or provision of an abortion.

· This bill will create recourse for a woman in pregnancy and possibly in distress who considers herself coerced into an abortion.

· This bill provides assurance to women when facing distress during pregnancy that they will receive complete and accurate information on abortion and its alternatives.

· This bill provides relief for the woman,and provides a penalty if the provider is found to have coerced the woman in any manner to have an abortion. This could result in a $25,000 statutory civil lawsuit.

· This bill supports the Wyoming Republican Platform that states, “All individuals are endowed by their Creator from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death with the rights to Life, Liberty, Property and the Pursuit of 

Happiness.”
