***LAC is the Legislative Action Committee of the RWSC (Republican Women of Sheridan County). Below is the main message showing our position and reasons why we support or oppose a bill.
We support HB0090, State engineer-consumptive water use study for the following reasons:
· This bill will direct the State Engineer to do a study on water consumption in Wyoming because of the recent demand for data centers.
· A study needs to be conducted to see how much water the state is consuming before we add more data centers, nuclear power plants, hydrogen fuel plants, etc. to the current demand for water.
· We need to know the impact of water consumption before moving forward with any projects.
· We are in support of this study to protect all current and potential water users.
