***LAC is the Legislative Action Committee of the RWSC (Republican Women of Sheridan County). Below is the main message showing our position and reasons why we support or oppose a bill.
We support HB0003, Wyoming Pregnancy Centers-Autonomy and Rights for the following reasons:
· This bill prohibits the state and specified governmental entities or agencies from adopting any law, rule or policy targeting pregnancy centers for intrusive oversight or regulations based on the centers’ stance against abortion.
· Pregnancy centers provide legitimate, comprehensive, professional care to women facing an unexpected/expected pregnancy to meet their physical, psychological and emotional needs.
· These centers, such as True Care in Casper and Legacy in Sheridan, offer women free, confidential and compassionate services and often have a director and other professionals including social workers on staff.
· This bill is supported by the Wyoming Republican Party Platform in that the
only purpose of government is to protect the rights to Life, Liberty and Property.
